Nevada History:[Sale of Genoa, Sacramento Union, February 4, 1860]
Sale of Genoa. — A resident of Genoa, in Carson valley, writing under date of January 24th, to a friend in this city, says : Yesterday we had a great excitement in Genoa. Trumbull sold all the vacant lots that were not sold and on the town map for $20,000. I understand it is considered a real bargain. Some say he paid $5,000 down and the rest in 40 days. The man who has bought the property has taken the map with him to Sacramento to speculate on. Blake has sold the old Mormon Station and will leave in a few days. He sold to one Smith for $700. All the ladies of Genoa are taking up claims in the vicinity of the town.
