Camp Cady.— Mr. Alling, who arrived on Saturday from El Dorado Cañon, gives a very favorable account of matters at Camp Cady, which is situated half-way between Los Angeles and Fort Mojave. The soldiers under Capt West are building thirty-five small adobe houses, and will be comfortably situated for the winter. They will cultivate ground enough another season to supply themselves with [an] abundance of vegetables.

Rich Mines Discovered.— Gentlemen who arrived from El Dorado Cañon on Saturday, report the discovery of very rich silver mines two or three days' travel above that point. They are situated above the Muddy river, on the Arizona side, and two days' travel from Callville Landing — the Mormon settlement at the head of navigation on the Colorado.  Specimens of native silver so pure that they could be drawn under the hammer have been brought from these mines, and a strong party has left the Cañon to prospect in that direction.

Matters at El Dorado Cañon.— Mr. Alling informs us that little has been accomplished within the past six months in developing the mines of El Dorado Cañon, mainly on account of the scarcity of capital and the want of tools, provisions and supplies of every kind. Mr. Alling left there on the 6th inst., previous to which time the steamer Cocopah had arrived with a cargo of Government supplies, and the Mojave was reported only a day or two behind with a load of provisions and supplies for private parties, so that the necessaries of life will be once more obtainable in that region. The Colorado Mill had been running some time but was out of quicksilver and would probably be obliged to suspend working for a time at least. The Erie [Era] Mill was about to be started again under favorable auspices by Augustus Spear, who had great confidence in being able to make it pay handsomely.
