HIS FIRST CHARGE.

__________

The Eureka (Nev.) Sentinel gives the following account of the first charge of a Eureka Justice : He said : "Gentlemen of the jury. Charging a jury is new business to me, as this is my first case. You have heard all the evidence as well us myself; you have also heard what the learned counsel have said. If you believe what the counsel for the plaintiff has told you, your verdict will be for the plaintiff. If on the other hand, you believe what the defendant's counsel has told you, you will render a verdict for the defendant. But if you are like me and don't believe what any of them have said, then I'll be d—d if I know what you will do. Constable H., take charge of the jury."
