.A Garden Party Extraordinaire
by Washoe Willie There were no formal invitations mailed or delivered, in fact it was almost hush-hush, as the word spread that a certain young lady was having a rather special get-together. She is planning to be married in August, a garden wedding and reception, and needed the garden cleaned up. Properly, you understand, and figured a group of young men of her acquaintance would be best suited for the job. The young men in question, we're not certain of the number, are all ex-boyfriends. Chutzpah? Some might say more than that. The word ballsy comes to mind. How does a young lady of fine moral character get all her ex-boyfriends to clean up her garden for her wedding to nary a one of them? She spread the word among them she was having a "weed" party, Sunday afternoon, 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., beer and refreshments to be served as well. It was a full turnout according to an inside source. There are of course many different definitions of the word "weed." Not everyone was totally pleased with the subterfuge, but the garden is princely in its appearance, there are no dandelions, no refreshments left, and no beer in the keg. May your life be blessed young lady, and we hope your intended is strong enough to handle your delightful ways. I wonder what's on the reception menu? •••
