Clark County Recorder Deane Arrested And Booked

Non-recorded Campaign Money, Sales Of  County Property, Corruption Charged

Following the issuance of a criminal complaint, Clark County Recorder Francis Deane was arrested.  Las Vegas Justice Court allowed the elected official to turn herself in rather than be arrested and handcuffed, as most alleged criminals would be.  She is accused of accepting at least $10,000 in non-reported campaign contributions, of selling records out of her office on a high bid basis.

Records indicate that Deane may have been in receipt of more than $80,000 from selling information out of her office.  In all there are 19 felony charges in the criminal complaint including taking bribes, falsifying campaign finance records, and theft.  A trial is being scheduled.
